Thoughts and Imaginations of the Heart.

2 Corinthians 10:4,5: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

Let’s examine this powerful verse…: we war not against flesh and

blood Eph. 6:12 therefore carnal (weak, worldly) weapons will not do. We need weapons that are God-empowered. Their purpose is to the pulling down (demolishing) strong holds ways of habitually thinking (anything opposing God’s will).

Paul is very specific about this type of warfare it is of the mind, against arrogant rebellious ideas and attitudes (which he terms imaginations here means arguments… ), and against every high thing (PRIDE) opposed to the true

Knowledge of God. The aim is to bring every disobedient                          thought to the obedience of Christ.

Verse 6: “And having in a readiness to punish (revenge) ail disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Thoughts are the product of mental activity. Webster defines thoughts as: A thought is an idea, speculation, perception, notion, contemplation, rationalization, or recollection. To think is to consider.

Thoughts may be deep or fleeting, and they are the power behind emotions and the will.

Some thoughts are created by the infiltration of spoken words, things we see, things we read, feelings, emotions, or the soul.

Imaginations are thought patterns with good or evil intentions, the faculty of thinking and then knowing. Imaginations and thoughts may be interchangeable.

Imagination brings a verdict with a thought that sets forth a pattern. The phrase

“Thought patterns” means the design, shape, or model of the mind and heart In other words, imaginations  are thought patterns bought into Clearview  and are the foundation from which good and evil desires come from.

Imaginations affect man’s emotions, attack the will, rule over desires, and encompass thoughts that bring forth a decision to do, go, stop, speak words, or be still. Our Lord hates a heart that devises wicked imaginations as we will see in Proverbs

6: 16-17: read———–no one knows your thought pattern except you, your heart, and the Lord. We may keep our thoughts secret, or we may express them out loud.

Thoughts may increase our desires and hinder Our Lords anointing in our lives.

Unhealthy thoughts will eat away at our faith.

Through the word of God, these unhealthy thoughts must be cast out for our own safety against sins.     Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The content of our

hearts will also affect your thoughts. This is the reason we must be filled with the things of God. The Bible is a book of thoughts and imaginations written on paper from the heart of our Lord. We ought to fill our minds with the word of God so that His thoughts become our thoughts.

Look at Jeremiah 29:11-13 read ….can it be that our Lord wants His people to see as He sees, think as He thinks, hear what He hears, and speak what He speaks? I believe so.

What will it be, wicked or Holy thoughts?

In genesis 6:5-6 “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” Also, in Jeremiah 17:9-10 read …. this suggests that before sin can be eradicated man must receive a new heart and a thought-inducing information from God.

No man sins without   first thinking about it. Isaiah 55:7-9 says, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways saith the Lord.

In our Christian walk, we face both seen and unseen dangers. Next to the heart itself, the most dangerous enemies to the gospel are not demons and Satan, or our sin nature, or the flesh, rather, our thoughts and imaginations, flowing out of motives

and intents of our hearts, these represent our second-fiercest foe.

Manifested sin is nothing more than the evidence and fulfillment of evil thoughts and wrong imaginations. Satan attacks the flesh to get to the heart, to stop our holy thinking, and destroy or steal God’s Word that has been sown and seeded within us (Luke 8:11-12) Satan’s desire is to implant his evil thoughts into our souls (mind, will emotions).

The Good news is that the Father knows our heart the Son redeems our heart and the Holy Spirit indwells our heart. Total victory is realized by maintaining pure and clean thoughts. Yes, sanctified thinking is required of true holiness. If any believer is defeated, that defeat is derived from wrong thinking or the increase of wrong thoughts and imaginations in the heart of the believer.  heaven,” Matt. 16:19. NIV

This verse means that we have some spiritual weapons to undo the damage that has been done to specific areas of our soul, meaning our mind will and emotions.

Let’s pray: Father in heaven l bind my will to your will, thereby, placing my will under obligation to your will. I want your will to be done in my life, not my will, because my, self-will gets me into trouble.

Lord Jesus I bind my, mind to your mind. because the Word tells me to want the same mind that is in you. I am choosing your thought patterns over mine.

Lord Holy, Spirit I bind my emotions to your emotions. Thank You. Holy Spirit. for healing and balance. I loose smash, crush and destroy, all wrong patterns of thinking, wrong beliefs. wrong ideas, and wrong attitudes in Jesus name. amen heaven,” Lord Holy, Spirit I bind my emotions to your emotions. Thank You. Holy Spirit. for healing and balance. I loose smash. crush. and destroy all wrong patterns of thinking. wrong beliefs. wrong ideas. and wrong ,altitudes in Jesus Name. Amen.
