Many today are perplexed by the lack of healings experienced in the Body of Christ, both in the soul as well as in the body. Why is this, has God changed? See Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8. He changes not. There must be a steadfast faith in the promises of God as revealed in Scriptures, which are given to rid us of any uncertainties in regards to healing.
I would offer that there is much uncertainty concerning God’s will in the matter. Appropriating faith cannot go beyond one’s knowledge of the revealed will of God. Before attempting to exercise faith for healing, one needs to know what the Scriptures plainly teach, that it is just as much God’s will to heal the body as it is to heal the soul.
Psalm 103:3 says, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases…
Each of God’s promises brings revelation of what God is eager to do for us. Until we know what God’s will is, there is nothing to base our faith on. This is why our mind’s must be “renewed” so as to come into agreement with the mind of God as revealed in the Word of God.
There is a word that seems to be missing in many Christians minds, that word is “Appropriate” the dictionary definition is one I like very much. “To take exclusive possession of.” Faith for the appropriation of God’s promised blessings is the result of knowing and acting on God’s Word (Rom.10:17). The renewed mind appropriating the right mental attitude, as expressed in (Rom.12:2).
