Order out of Chaos

hs-1995-45-a-large_web-e1409621772795

For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: “I am the LORD, and there is no other…” Isaiah 45:18

In Vain, tohu, Strong’s # 8414, A formless chaotic mess, a waste, a worthless thing, emptiness and desolation, for no purpose, for nothing. The word first occurs in Gen. 1:2, “The earth was without form [tohu], and void [bohu].” Tohu and its rhyming synonym bohu are coupled to describe a scene of disorder, confusion, and lack of arrangement.

However, the Lord brought order out of chaos, as Gen.1:2,3, (and our present Earth) testifies. Many other places tohu refers to a howling waste, a tracless wilderness, a scene of utter disarray, desolation, and barrenness. Tohu suggests “Sheer emptiness” as opposed to order and balance.

Thank you for the instructive word study, Manny.

I always enjoy things dealing with the creation.

On another subject (where the same words are used), there is the chaos in the world today. I know that God could make order out of it if he so wanted. There are two things, though, that I think keep him from doing so:

    1) He (God) made man and gave him choice. Man sinned and fellowship with God was broken to an extent. Things have been “wearing out like a garment” ever since.

    2) The Biblical prophecies must come true. There are prophecies about the Second Coming of Jesus that must be fulfilled just like His first coming. Many of those prophecies speak of a world that has lost its way. Here is only one section of scripture that gives a peek at what lies ahead (and is here now to a certain degree). It is from 2 Timothy 3:

    1. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

Looking at the spiritual, political, financial, moral, etc., condition of man in the present, we could be living in or at least near the “last days” spoken of in these verses.

So, there was chaos near the beginning and there will be chaos near the “end.” Thankfully, it will only be the “end” before the beginning of forever.

Until then, I will appreciate the beauty of God’s creation in my lifetime. God did a wonderful thing when he created the heaven and the earth. He “goes to prepare a place” for us. It will be another place of awesome and wonder I believe.

Thanks for stirring the brain cells and helping me to make something out of chaos, Manny. God gives us the ability, each according to His own will

I always like your word studies.

    God’s blessings…

Every thing you have spoken on is true. It is a world in chaos, and only our Lord can correct it according to His Word. Only our Lord can speak of these things with certainty because He is the only and true God.

He spoke and creation obeyed, how wonderful, not so, His most beloved mankind. We must keep a spiritual awareness on where we are according to Scripture, it is a spiritual diligence not a man’s interpretation. We have to much of that type of stuff. i remember Doug Clark getting all fussed out about his interpretations and where has he gone? Follow the Holy Spirit’s leading and you will never go wrong.

I totally agree about appreciating the beauty of God’s creation. Speaking of beauty, how about the unsearchable riches “IN” Jesus?

I just had a passing thought,—many, get all fussed out about this latest save the earth nonsense, i do not advocate tearing down systems– but i get skeptical about politicians harping on the “Green movement” and all the hysteria associated with it.
Do you know what Satan’s color of choice is? yep it is Green. Give some thought to who is behind the scare and money to be made by the save the earth group. save it for whom? See 2 Peter 3:10 and other places.

In certain so-called, churches in their closed door upper leadership who practice the highest order of Satan worship they are proud of the wearing of the “Green apron.” just saying!

Your comment reminded me of how the Message Bible adds and subtracts words for the original Greek, Manny. This verse adds the word “green” that is not found in the verse in Greek:

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!

It is a counterfeit of the verse in Romans 15:13.

So much for the message “bible.”

I’m curious, Manny. Is this the same Doug Clark whom you are referring to? I watched this recently and the video claims that it was not only Walter Martin’s last appearance on TBN. It says it was Doug Clark’s as well. Is this the same Doug Clark and, if so, where has he gone? I recently looked a bit but could find nothing about what happened to him.

Yes that is the Doug Clark i was referring to. Here is a little oops on Doug Clark.
1992 CE – A Canadian prophecy teacher who rose to riches by tapping into the bottomless Doomsday market, Doug Clark became a hugely popular fixture of the Trinity Broadcasting Network with his show, “Shockwaves to Armageddon”. From Bible prophecies to the Jupiter Effect to World War III, Dougy pilfered just about every known apocalypse fad he could get his hands on. His shows were filled with the stuff eschatology addicts can never get enough of: Graphic descriptions of carnage and destruction, natural disaster and mass death, the total collapse of civilization, near-unimaginable suffering and a shortage of non-diet Coke.
The public ate it up. They bit down hard on his packaged tours to the Holy Land, too. His last big tele-prophecy was that 1992 would bring WW III and the end of it all. Instead, it was 1990 that brought the end of his career when his Holy Land tours turned out not to be everything – or really anything – that he’d promised. He went on the lam from the US Postal Inspector who’d issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of mail fraud. Canadian Immigration finally nailed him in 1995 and he was shipped back to the States for trial and a two year stay in a Federal pen.

Yes, they were together on that show which was yanked off the air and the two were never allowed back on. I am researching the infamous episode.

Although I grew up within one or two car hours to where TBN originated, I was too busy with school and work to watch much of it. It did seem strange to me from the beginning.

Wow. Thank you for the information, Manny, even though I wish it weren’t true.

Since Doug did so much for TBN, I’m surprised that he wasn’t allowed back on after the infamous episode. Yes, he did clap for Walter Martin at times but he didn’t seem in complete agreement near the end. I guess TBN would have been pleased if Doug had asked Walter to leave the set when things got dicey.

The episode and the decisions surrounding it show, once again, that the “Bible Answer man” had the real answers and wasn’t afraid to share them and even confront false teaching.

We could use more men like Mr. Martin in our times as you well know, Manny.

            God’s blessings my friend…

Yes, i agree, we could use some more Dr. Walter Martins. If you recall the controversy was the infamous Hagen/ Copeland Heresy. BTW Joyce Mayer espouses the same stuff. Unbelievable what they said about our Lords death.

No one spoke out except Dr. Martin, i have always admired his stick. a real man of the Word. I used to like listening to his Bible answer man show on the radio. He met all challenges head on and pretty well answered in plain truth a very rare commodity in our day.

i am troubled by our generations coming up. They tend to believe anything that comes down to them and sounds sweet. Everyone is a bully if they do not agree with the heard, mush heads, 3 fries short of a happy meal. 🙂

I have heard of the strange teachings of Hagen and Copeland and Walter Martin gives some of the details at the end of his last “visit” to TBN.

I think quite a few Word of Faith teachers have the same false views about Jesus.

I am also concerned for our youth. There are so many false teachers that I can’t keep up with all of them. Some of these guys (and gals) are very good “emotionalists.” The know how to weave a web and make it look like the truth. Your last paragraph is so true, Manny.

There are some good apologists around but no one seems to have the personality of Dr. Martin. Then again, God breaks the mold after each one of us comes along. Then again, we need men like Walter Martin now more than ever.

The world is upside-down (Your bully comment is becoming reality, sadly).
