Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in Mercy; Break up your follow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12 NKJV.
Sow, zara’, Strong’s # 2232: to sow; to scatter seed; to plant seed in order to increase the returns: to disseminate. The verb means to sow for grain, as well as to increasing of humans and animals (Ps. 107:37; Jer. 31:28,28).
In psalm 97:11 unusual seed as: “light” and “gladness” is sown for the Lord’s saints. The noun zera’ means “seed” whether it is fruit, grain, a male’s fluid, or the line of descendants that proceeds from an individual (“seed of Abraham” in Ps. 105:6). In our text the reference indicates that those who plant righteousness shall harvest tender kindness. A comparison is planting tears and harvesting joy (Ps. 126:5).
