That You would come down!

That the mountains might shake at Your presence-

As fire burns brushwood,

As fire causes water to boil-

To make Your name known to your adversaries,

That the nations may tremble at Your presence!

When You did awesome things for which we did not look,

You came down,

The mountains shook at Your presence…Isaiah 64:1-3 NKJV.

When intercession breaks through, “awesome things for which we did not look” is a perfect description of revival, because the unpredictable and unusual are characteristics of great spiritual awakenings.

Our prayers should focus on our Lord preparing the hearts of men and women for such an “awesome” visitation of the Holy Spirit. In our present milk-toast brand of leadership our prayers should focus on:

  1. Leadership would have an understanding of the ways of the Spirit and will make room for God;
  2. be sensitive and flexible to flow with whatever new thing God wants to do;
  3. be taken over by the fear of the Lord and released from the fear of men;
  4. recognize that the fear of the Lord is the is the source of their much needed wisdom;

be given a deep desire to be radically real and to repent of all hypocrisy; and that they will not be concerned for “man pleasing” or “reputation.”
