Having ears doesn’t mean you can hear.

Having ears doesn’t mean you can hear.
“For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.” Luke 8:17. “For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.” “If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:22,23.
Apokruphos, Strong’s # 614 means to hide away from somebody. Kruptos, Strong’s #2927 is to keep secret, hidden, concealed, and thus a secret.
These two words occur together in Mark 4:22; and Luke 8:17. Kruptos is translated “hid” in Mark and “secret” in Luke, while Apokruphos is translated “kept secret” in Mark and “hid” in Luke. So, “what’s the big deal you say.”
Kruptos refers to something that is kept hidden either to protect it or for self-serving reasons. Let’s consider a candle as an example. The nature of a candle is to give off light and whatever one does with it, it cannot help but give light. If we hide the candle it is not allowed to do its natural work of giving light, whether to others or to oneself.

No matter how it is used, light is light and it cannot but illuminate. This is what we as Christians ought to be. Therefore Krupto (2928) to hide, in this instance means to cover. One cannot nullify the nature of something such as light.
Apokruphos, however, means to hide away from somebody. This hiding is used here in a good sense to keep something secret or hidden from someone for good reasons for a calculated time. God keeps certain things secret from us for a certain time, for our good, exactly as we would withhold certain knowledge from our children until the appropriate time.
A very clear distinction is given us in Colossians 2:3; “In whom (Christ) are hid (apokruphoi) all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” One can never know certain truths which are treasures unless one knows Jesus Christ Himself. Our knowledge of what Christ knows comes only as we become intimately related to Him and in growth of that relationship.
The treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden from people as long as they do not know Jesus Himself. Apokrupto may be used in what God keeps secret from man because either man is not mature enough for knowledge or because a man in by nature incapable of understanding such knowledge.
Jesus said, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life;  and these are they which testify of Me.” John 5:39.
