Beware Of Dead Mens Bones-part three.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness…” Matthew 23:27,28.

1-Jesus
In the Sermon on the Mount (Matt.5:1) Hypocrisy is set in contrast to the kingdom of heaven. To a hypocrite, what is outwardly performed is most important and not what is believed in the heart.
Jesus teaches one’s righteousness should not be a public performance. Hypocrisy blocks the singleness of eye that fills the whole person with light; it turns the light that is in man into darkness. Hypocrisy in its effort to serve two masters, really serves none.
The hypocrite is blind to the beams in his own eye, all the while pointing out the splinters in his brother’s eye. Beware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing. Hypocrisy corrupted Judaism, it was ready to corrupt Christianity, and indeed has made inroads.
Jesus treated the publican and the harlot as the lost sheep He had come to find. For them He opened wide the door of the kingdom. True to form Jesus knew the hypocrites could only pretend to enter the kingdom.
The greatest hypocrite in Scripture is the Antichrist, the one who stands in place of Christ. The Antichrist will represent the new hypocrisy, which is being lived out in our present apostate churches. He will come  saying, “I am he” (Mark. 13:6). He will try to deceive even the elect.
