Thoughts and Imaginations of the Heart– part two

Through the Word of God, these unhealthy thoughts must be cast out for our own safety against sins. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
The content of our hearts will also effect our thoughts. This is the reason we must be filled with the things of God. The Bible is a book of thoughts and imaginations written on paper from the heart of our Lord. We ought to fill our minds with the Word of God so that His thoughts become our thoughts.
Look at Jeremiah 29:11-13…can it be that our Lord wants His disciples to see as He sees, think as He thinks, hear what He hears, and speak what He speaks? I believe so.

What will it be, Wicked or Holy Thoughts.

In Genesis 6:5-6 we read:”And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually, and it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.” MindWarBlog (1)

Again in Jeremiah 17:9,10…”The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately (incurably sick) wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, (most secret place) Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.”
This suggests that before sin can be eradicated man must receive a new heart and a thought-inducing information from God. No man sins without first thinking about it.
Isaiah 55:7-9 says, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

In our walk as disciples, we face both seen and unseen dangers. Next to the heart itself, the most dangerous enemies to the gospel are not demons and Satan, or our sin nature, or the flesh, rather, our thoughts thoughts and imaginations, flowing out of the motives and intents of our hearts, these represent our second-fiercest foe.
Manifested sin is nothing more than the evidence and fulfillment of evil thoughts and wrong imaginations.

Satan attacks the flesh to get to our heart, to stop our holy thinking, and destroy or steal God’s Word that has been sown and seeded within us (Luke 8:11,12). Satan ‘s desire is to implant his evil thoughts into our souls (mind, will, emotions).
The good news is that the Father knows our heart, the Son redeems our heart, and the Holy Spirit indwells our heart. Total victory is realized by maintaining pure and clean thoughts. Yes, sanctified thinking is required of true holiness. If any believer is defeated, that defeat is derived from wrong thinking or the increase of wrong thoughts and imaginations in the heart of the believer.
Scriptures to help in the battle.
Philippians 4:8; Godly meditation is a great thought defense against wrong thinking. Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Psalm 119:9-11 is also a rock solid Scripture.
