For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren saying: “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to you.”
And again:
“I will put My trust in Him.” and again: “Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Hebrews 2: 11-15 NKJV
Be partaker, metecho,Strong’s # 3348 a verb. Literally “to have with.” The word expresses a sharing in, participating of, copartnering, working in association with another, and taking part in a joint venture.
Our text describes Jesus, by the incarnation, sharing flesh and blood with humanity for their redemption. One fact of our redemption that all share is that in our salvation death has no more sting, it no longer can torment, nor hold us in bondage to fear of death.
1 Corinthians 9: 10 says, Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope.
1 Corinthians 10:17 states that all the redeemed have a joint-participation in worshiping the Lord Jesus.
