Five Keys to hearing God’s Voice.

Hearing God’s voice is the birthright of the Born from Above (John 10:27,28). Peter quoting Joel’s prophesy said, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy” Acts 2:17, 18.
The last days refer to era of the church from Pentecost to the return of Christ Heb.1:1, 2.
The Lukewarm church. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Rev.3:20, Behold, I stand at the door and knock is addressed to a complacent church.
Individuals may still open the door and enjoy intimate fellowship with the Lord. Our Lord waits for the door to be opened shows the paradox of grace and personal responsibility.
Like Habakkuk, we can take a posture before God that enables us to hear His voice. Five keys to hearing God’s voice. Habakkuk 2:1-3.
• Meet with The Lord regularly in a special place of prayer. “I will stand my watch” Verse 0ne.
• Look for God to speak to you in dreams and visions: I will “watch to see” verse 0ne.
• Listen for the Word of the Lord: “He will say to me” Verse One.
• Keep a journal of things that God says: “Write the vision” Verse 2.
• Wait for God to bring it to pass.: “It will surely come” Verse 3.
Proverbs 29:18 shows that when a society lacks any revelation from God (divine insight), such a society heads in the direction of anarchy. The Prophets in the OT understood God’s counsels so clearly because He revealed matters to them by visible means. God still reveals matters today in dreams and visions in spite of Cessationists.
Tomorrow: Being obedient to the heavenly Vision.

I don’t think we are in the days which Joel spoke of in his prophecy, but I believe we are very near them.

“I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh…” I don’t see this portion of the prophecy as having taken place yet.

IMO, It is possible that we will see the fulfillment of this prophecy in our lifetime.

    Another thought-provoking post my friend…
