For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you. 1 Corinthians 11:19.
Recognized, phaneros, Strong’s # 5318: Conspicuous, apparent, manifest, visible, evident, plain, clear, open to sight. The very nature of the word suggests a visibility that gives the observer the ability to define immediately what is seen.
Here Paul stated that the only good that can come out of false brethren is the evident goodness of the true brethren. In Matthew 6:4, 6, and 18, Jesus assures us that the Father observing us in secret rewards us openly (Phaneros).
Another way of reading this verse could be: For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be manifest, evident among you.

Some churches take this verse to an extreme by constantly having factions and fighting within. Of course, this verse does not refer to continuous discord because after the ones who are approved are made manifest, the unapproved faction(s) must submit.

I appreciate your word studies. They add insight that I would have not known otherwise.
God’s blessings my friend…
