Made free by the Spirit

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.  Romans 8:1,2.

my boat

Made Free, eleutheroo, Strong’s #1659:  To liberate, acquit, set free, deliver. A verb showing what the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives daily. The law here does not refer to God’s written moral commands in the OT (in Rm. 7:12), but to the system of operation that the Spirit of Life, the Holy Spirit, works out in our lives, breaking the dominion of the old law (principle) of sin and death.

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. As we allow the Holy Spirit within “to will and to do for His good pleasure” the bondage of the flesh is broken. Glory to God!

    Love it Manny!

Romans 8 if my fav chapter in the Bible because it is one of the passages that tells us that God is pro-life. His Spirit is the “Spirit of Life.” This is one of my arguments when I talk to Christians who are pro-choice.

    Great insight.

I agree Romans 8 is definitely high altitude. There is no life like Spirit led life, it is fully pro-life.

Is pro-choice among Christians an “Oxy-moron?”

Yup… Pro-choice is a position of severe inconsistency for the believer, even if he/she feels that they would never have an abortion.

Imagine if the issue was not abortion, but animal cruelty. Image the believer saying “I would never commit animal cruelty, but I really cannot impose my view…”

It’s kinda like that with the pro-choice position and Christians. They may be against abortion, but they feel they do not want to impose a matter or TRUTH, so they give a nod to society to practice depravity. That is inconsistent and wrong.

    Hi Manny.

I hope you had a great lunch.

A pastor at one of the two churches I attend is currently in the book of Romans. He thinks it is the greatest book in the Bible. And it just so happens that he is currently in the 8th chapter of Romans. I recently heard a great message on Romans 8:28.

What great verses these are that start the chapter! What a wonderful thing it is to know that God has made us free from the law of sin and death!

    Glory to God, indeed.

    God’s blessings my friend…
