Kindness is a fruit grown in us by the Holy Spirit.

And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. Acts 28:2.

Kindness, philanthropia, Strong’s #5363: A love for mankind, hospitality, acts of kindness, readiness to help, human friendship, benevolence, and taking thought of others. The word combines Philos (friend, love as a brother) and anthropos (man).

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared…Titus 3:4 Here we have God’s loving kindness toward man. If we find ourselves a little short on kindness simply repent and submit to the Holy Spirit and He will help us with this fruit of His presence.

One of the classes we teach at the Center is entitled: “Your Child’s Spiritual Training.” In it we cover the fruits of the Holy Spirit and how parents can help their children understand them.

Kindness is something we need to ask God for more of, so that we can do His work in His way.

    Thanks for the reminder, Manny.
