If we allow peccadillo’s in a day, they will lead to larger transgressions.

And they prayed and said, “You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.” Acts 1:25.

Transgression, parabaino, Strong’s #3845.  Abandoning a trust, departing, stepping aside, overstep, violation, rebellion, aberration, apostasy, disobedience, deviation from an original and true direction. Case in point Judas abandoned his position of service as one of the twelve disciples.

Parabaino brings more of the guilt of willfully deviating from God’s original and true direction.

I’ve always been intrigued by the manner in which Judas was replaced. The mysteries of God are many.

It was Judas’ greediness that got the best of him. We see the same trait in America today.

The same answer is given almost every time I ask the question: “What is most important to our society today?” “Money,” is the response.

We live in a time when parabaino is rampant. The famous prayer that asks to “Lead us not into temptation” is a good one to recite daily.

Jesus is the hope for the darkened soul.

I feel it is the little things that we choose not to deal with that eventually become major issues that can do us in. Judas let his greed ruin him. I am amazed by our Lord in that he knew Judas would betray him yet he treated him the same as the others.
