The Manifold Manifestation of God’s Wisdom.

To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord…  Ephesians 3:8-11.manifold

Manifold, polupoikilos; Strong’s #4182. From polus, “Much,” and poikilos, “varied,”  “many colored.” The word pictures God’s wisdom as a kaleidoscope of many colors, shades, tints, hues. Our God is a God of variety; He constantly enters the human arena displaying many-sided, multicolored, and diversified wisdom to His people and through His people.

The book of Ephesians, our Swiss Alps of the NT really soars in these verses. The Apostle Paul cites God’s intent to display the church before all evil powers as His instrument to dispense throughout the earth what He has already accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, through Jesus’ death, Resurrection, and Ascension.

“which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ”

God’s creation displays the kaleidoscope of which you write, Manny. There are many mysteries in His Word, but His manifold wisdom may be made known by us and the eternal purpose has and will be accomplished.

I like your description of Ephesians. Very fitting. We are His instruments, designed to share the Gospel with the world.

Oh, that we are up to this great task!

    God’s blessings my friend…

Yes, one fine day the Lord emphasised this verse to me and wow! Clear and distinct purpose. “When the going gets tough, the tough get going!” Left, right. left!
