Are we going along with Jesus or the world?

Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered him, “Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me afterward.” John 13:36.

Follow,  akoloutheo; Strong’s # 190. To accompany, go along with, go the same way with, follow one who goes before. A as in union with, and keluethos is a road. Akoloutheo is being on the same roadway with someone.

This word is used for soldiers, servants, and pupils; it can easily be transferred to the life of a Christian. Metaphorically, it is used for discipleship (Matt. 9:9; Mark 9:38).

God, in His wisdom, chose to use the Greek language to communicate His wonders to us. This word is another example of how God used a language that is very specific to help us understand His plans for us.

Thanks for more light from the pot…
