Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2:35.
Thoughts, dialogismos; Strong’s #1261. Inward reasoning, questioning, consideration, and deliberation; turning thoughts over in the mind; reckoning by mental questions, opinions, designs, and disputes.
Dialogismos is the thinking of a man who is :
- Deliberating with himself.
- Settling accounts.
- Suspicious because of his state of indecision.
Through one’s acceptance or rejection of Christ, the real thoughts of one’s heart toward himself and toward God become clear.

Another great word choice, Manny. It reminds me of this verse:
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
God’s blessings my friend…
