Naughty or nice, sinner or saint, who’s your Daddy.

But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification and the end, everlasting life.  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 3:22,23.

It has been said that sin is first pleasing, then easy, then delightful, then frequent, and then habitual. The person then becomes a confirmed sinner, then obstinate, then resolved never to repent, and then he is ruined.tumblr_m7q8g5Mrcx1qm3x2po1_1343282508_cover

A wage was a ration or stipend originally associated with a soldier in military service. In our day and age it means “payment for work done,” or “recompense.”

These verses inform us that sin is work—it is toil or labor for hire. Sin is a battle against godliness; it brings dominance by a satanic overlord. Sin is a one-way street that drives the sinner relentlessly on a path that leads to ultimate death.

The word gift (charisma) suggests a divine gratuity, that is, deliverance from danger or passion. To be specific it is a spiritual endowment; objectively it is a miraculous faculty. It is divine influence upon your heart and its reflection in your life.amazing-grace.15152309_std

Sin works you, but righteousness rewards you. God gives us the ability to choose His grace or the wages of sin.
