Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my Salvation*; on You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4, 5.
Truth, emet; Strong’s #571. Certainty, stability, truth, rightness, trustworthiness. Emet comes from the verb ‘aman, which means “to be firm, permanent, and established.” ‘Emet conveys a sense of dependability, firmness, and reliability.
Truth is part of our foundation that our lives may be built upon and we may rest in confidence to the point of staking our lives upon it. David prayed that God’s truth would continually preserve him (Ps. 40:11). Scripture speaks of “men of truth” (Ex. 18:21),the “law of truth” (Mal.2:6), and especially the “true God [or God of truth]” (Jer.10:10).
In the NT our Lord Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6. * Salvation here in “…You are the God of my salvation” means immediate deliverance from adversity.

Truth…a much needed item in the world today. And we need only look as far as our Bibles.
