God is Our Joy, In Spite Of Our Circumstances.

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:18.rejoice

Joy, gil; Strong’s # 1523. To joy, rejoice, be glad, and be joyful. Gil contains the suggestion of “dancing for joy,” since the verb originally meant “to spin around with intense motion.” This blows away the notion that the Biblical concept of joy is only “a quiet, inner sense of well-being.”

God dances for joy over Jerusalem and because of His people (Isa. 65:19; Zep.3:17 ). Hid redeemed citizens are joyful in their King; they praise Him with dances, with instruments, and with singing (Ps. 149:2,3). Habakkuk’s external world has everything wrong yet he is leaping for joy over his fellowship with Yahweh.

When I think of joy, Manny, the verse “The joy of the Lord is my strength” comes to mind. This word study gives us deeper understanding of the word “Joy.” You have shared an excellent verse for today my friend.

I wish you a blessed day in the Lord.
