Are we heart sick in our walk?

“I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches (examines) the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.” Revelation 2:23.

Hearts, kardia; Strong’s #2588. A root word meaning “to quiver” or to palpitate (compare to “cardiac”). The physical organ of the body, home base of the physical life, the seat of one’s personal life (physical and spiritual), the center of one’s personality, which includes all of one’s mental and moral activity, including rational and emotional elements.

It is the depository of feelings, desires, joy, pain, and love. Within this depository it also contains all thoughts, understanding and our will.

Our hearts are the dwelling place of our Lord and Holy Spirit. In our verse 23 the omniscient Lord sees into the innermost being where all decisions concerning Him are made.

Proverbs 4:23 says, keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. How much could King Solomon have profited by following his own advice?

King Soloman is one of the greatest examples of what can happen to a man’s heart if he doesn’t stay close to God’s Word. Truly humbling. Thanks Manny.
