And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen(Former Roman slaves) disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke. Acts 6:8-10.
Here is an awesome lesson for us. Testifying of your faith is not just a matter of saying all the right things. When we witness it is a spiritual battle that requires the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit working in the witness.
Wisdom, sophia Strong’s # 4678. This speaks of practical wisdom, prudence, skill, comprehensive insight, Christian enlightenment, a right application of knowledge, insight into the true nature of things. only the Holy Spirit can give these skills to us as He leads us. Wisdom is many times hooked up with knowledge (Rom. 11:33; 1 Cor. 12:8;Col. 2:3).
Wisdom is knowing (experientially) the ways and will of God.
