“But that you may know that the Son of Man has power (authority) on earth to forgive sins” –He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Mark 2:10,11.

Power, exousia; Strong’s #1849. One of the four power words dunamis: means energy, power, might, great force, compare, dynamic, dynamite, the dunimis in Jesus resulted in dramatic transformations. Ischus: great strength, especially physical. Kratos: primarily refers to God’s kingdom reigning authority, dominion, and majesty.
Exousia: The right to act, ability, privilege, capacity. Delegated authority. The word is derived from exesti, “it is permitted, it is lawful.” It means literally “to be out of.” When a person delegates someone to do something for him and use his name, he is in a sense in that person, doing that very thing which he asked the other one to do.
The Son of Man on earth has the delegated authority, as the Son of God, from God the Father, to forgive sins. It is the answer to the reasoning’s of the scribes, “Who can forgive sins but God only?” Jesus has given His followers exousia to preach, teach, heal, and deliver and that authority has never been rescinded.

Very educational, Manny. There are days when I wish I had the authority that was given to the disciples. I was talking to someone about this recently. Alas, I will try and do the best with what He has given me.
Looking at the stars the other night, I thought of God’s power. We can’t begin to understand it. How great is our God!!!
